Tottenham has turned their attention to Swansea’s Joe Rodon as they bid to recruit Jose Mourinho a new centre back this summer.
The Lilywhites have had a fine summer transfer window, however, they haven’t replaced Jan Vertonghen and Juan Foyth who both left the club this summer.
Tottenham is left with just three senior centre backs and Mourinho has told the club that he needs one more.
The club chased a deal for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar for much of this summer, but the international transfer window closed before they could sign the Slovakian.
They have now turned their attention to Rodon, but they are also struggling to complete the move.
Leicester City has become interested in signing him too and The Examiner Live is reporting that Sheffield United is also interested in signing the Welsh defender.
It claims that the Blades had been looking to sign him earlier in the summer before they moved to sign Chelsea’s Ethan Ampadu on loan for the season.
With Chris Wilder’s side still struggling this season, they have maintained their interest in Rodon and that might see them battle Spurs for his signature.
Spurs have offered £7m for him, but Swansea wants more than twice that amount.

After that video I just saw of Vinícius knocking them in in training yesterday he needs to start, give Kane a rest.
That last Top corner strike was beautiful.
Very long
Slight injury in 1st Spain match, didn’t play 2nd match.
Jose will not take a risk against little old W.Spam
Winks might start to find his mojo again with a defensive midfielder behind him, if he can get good interaction with Tanguy you have a midfield with a nice blend there… Jose seems to like Winks, Tottenham boy with good reading of the game. Playing him as a defensive midfielder put the shackles on his pass, keep it pass Iniesta type game.
Not serious but I got the impression the next game might be a bit soon. We don’t want him rushed back, it’s a long season.
I thought it wasn’t that serious?
Crocked mate.
Where’s Reg Rapido?
Maybe if Leicester had Bale & Davies they may have a chance of taking him there, but unfortunately they don’t.
Looking forward to see if Hojbjerg can put on a masterclass against the England midfield before he returns to maul W.Ham
