Darren Bent tips Tottenham to earn as much as £50m for unsettled star

Darren Bent has tipped Tottenham to earn as much as £50m from the sale of Dele Alli this summer.

Alli has fallen out of favour with Jose Mourinho this season and the Special One hasn’t been afraid to drop him from his team.

He has started just two games this campaign, he played 45 minutes against Everton at the start of the season and 60 minutes against Shkëndija in the Europa League.

He was expected to start the Carabao Cup game against Chelsea yesterday because the team was heavily rotated by Mourinho, yet he wasn’t named in the side.

He has been linked with a move away from Spurs this summer with PSG reportedly looking to sign him on loan before this transfer window closes (The Sun).

Spurs are not looking to cash in on him, but Bent thinks that they should because he will fetch them good money that they can use to strengthen their team in other positions.

Bent told Football Insider: “I think for all concerned I’d let him go now because if Mourinho’s not going to play him and you’ve still got ambitions of bringing players in, you look to players where you can generate the most money.

“If you go and sell Dele Alli, you’re going to generate at least £40-50million because someone will pay that for a Dele Alli.

“That then will allow you to go out and if you want to sign another player, go and do that. I think that the fact they’re hanging on to him, it’s not really doing anyone any favours.

“For me, I would look at the situation and go you know what, it’s probably best we let him go. He is still a top player, I know he’s lost his way a little bit but we’ve seen signs recently that it’s still in there.

“I would maybe cash in, let him go and enjoy his football elsewhere and if Spurs have ambitions of bringing any other players in, this might be the way to generate the most money. He’s not playing anyway.”

“My missus could have scored that!” 😂

No but seriously, Darren Bent is just like all these pundits, they just have to produce waffle to create content and click bait. It’s all part of a well oiled media machine. As far as accuracy and insight, most of it is complete guff.

So’s this, and Darren Bent is a Gooner who was never good enough for us. Dele isn’t going anywhere and he’s a slightly complex puzzle of a player but a very talented one. Dribbling isnt the only skill that makes you talented as a player….

Shall we move on?

Darren Bent should know better. Dele is going NOWHERE except back into the first team providing he works hard. We love him when he’s on top form and so does Mourinho. He just wants him to put the graft in.. That’s all. I will tell ya something else. If Dele was playing for any other club in the world right now.. Levy would be offering as much as he could afford to buy him.. and quite rightly so!
