Danny Rose is finally set for an exit from Tottenham, with The Independent claiming that he is on the verge of a surprising move to the Italian side, Genoa.
The Englishman is one of the oldest members of the current Spurs team, but he has done his reputation more harm than good in recent seasons.
He clashed with Jose Mourinho earlier in the year when he accused the Portuguese manager of playing only his favourite players.
The manager explained his selections to him, but Rose wasn’t satisfied and he even suggested that he would start training at home if he will not be playing.
He was subsequently sent out on loan to Newcastle United where he spent the second half of last season.
The Magpies decided not to pursue a permanent transfer and he has to look for a new team now.
The Independent adds that he has been training with the club’s Under23s ahead of the new season because he isn’t part of the manager’s plan for the new season.
Genoa is the second Italian team that has been linked with a move for him recently, with Cagliari also looking to sign him (TeamTalk).
What remains unclear is whether Rose will be signing for them permanently or on loan.

What happened to going back to his roots with his next move as it would be the last big one.
So we have one left back now in Davies?… Dear oh dear… If he gets injured for 2 or 3 months again then we will probably replace Rose in a year or so…. Top clubs always make sure they have replacements there and then… Not one or two years later.
