“Are you Dele or Dele’s brother?”, new manager Jose Mourinho asked the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder this week, according to Sky Sports.
“I am Dele”, came the response. “Okay, so play like Dele.”
And in the first half of Mourinho’s Spurs bow, Dele has played like Dele.
The England international assisted Son Heung-min for the first goal against West Ham United, a whipped left-footed finish to get the Jose era going.
We were into a 2-0 lead before the break and Dele was instrumental again.
Look at this incredible piece of skill to simultaneously keep the ball in play and flick it into Son’s path for him to cross to Lucas Moura at the back post.
Dele Alli, STOP IT! 🔥

That is the sort of instinctive brilliance which made Dele a star.
Credit to Son and Lucas too, for the quality delivery and desire shown to get in front of his man. But Dele is going to take the headlines for this goal.
