Real Madrid were interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele before he joined Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, according to Defensa Central.
The report from Spain claims that Zidane views it as his “biggest regret” from the last transfer window that he couldn’t bring Ndombele to La Liga.
Zidane apparently wanted the France international to come in as an upgrade on Casemiro but Real instead spent the whole of the summer pursuing a difficult deal for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Spurs beat some of Europe’s biggest clubs to sign Ndombele for £55million – fee according to talkSPORT – in a rare show of authority in the transfer market.
The 22-year-old has shown glimpses of his magnificent talent so far this season but has been held back by the team’s form and his lack of fitness.
Once Ndombele gets up to speed, I am sure the Premier League will see exactly why Zidane is so disappointed not to have signed him himself.

When winning stuff the history books don’t show how much you spent or whether you did it with style and panache.
I want us to win stuff, stuff of meaning. I don’t care who the manager is or who the owners and players are. I want to go to my grave knowing we won the PL and CL as well as the domestic cups in my lifetime.
Big ask ! Yes, but doable.
