“87½p per nacho” “Not even bad” Mixed reactions to two of Spurs’ catering options

By The Boy -

I’d recommend to you the social media account Footy Scran, which (and some of you may be astonished to know this) shares fan photos of matchday food from all over the country and even from overseas. The result is fascinating as we get to see variants of what folk eat in different places, and indeed, at different prices.

If I use the tartare pot to scale, this portion of fish and chips is about the same size as an iMac wireless keyboard. Priced at £9.50, for a category A London ground, it looks good value, although the mushy peas look in need of a drink.

Next up is a portion of loaded nachos, priced at £7. For me, this is lacking in cheese. Perhaps this is a vegan dish, but vegan cheese is actually ideal for recipes where you want a melted topping.

Squirty guacamole is a product that I wouldn’t wish on someone I didn’t like, but the salsa looks interesting.

If I learned anything from Footy Scran, It’s that a bratwurst at Borussia Dortmund for €2.50 almost looks worth heading to Germany for – on its own.

The training might be hard but on the pitch Bielsa and Conte have obviously different approaches. Conte is more structured.

it is hard on the players physically but you can always give them less intense sessions here and there, providing that they’re playing well.

Leeds play the Spurs way and they’re battling relegation. Of course they don’t have the talent either. But in a season where Harry and the other internationals play upwards of 70 games, the high press is not sustainable. We’ll see how these guys take to Conte’s demanding trainings. They tuned out Poch at the end, remember?

Good stuff. Winky definitely wouldn’t have survived those days. He would have been eaten alive.. The game has changed loads since the 70s technically too. Teams need to be able to adjust now. If any team now passed forward every 2 or 3 passes then the opposition would suss that out and anticipate. Tactics are far deeper… I am expecting Winky to move on.. But if Conte can make a player out of him then hats off.

Read an interview with John Pratt and he said the Spurs teams he played in had a rule two passes sideways or back had to be followed by a forwards pass.

Winks wouldn’t have lasted too long in those days.

Conte loves the word ‘project’ though, it’s a word he uses. The aim is always to win.. If any spurs fan didn’t want him then they clearly don’t know Conte, they didn’t watch him at Juve, Chelsea, Inter, or they are in that small but strange group who claim the myth that Spurs should play entertaining, high press, frilly fancy football. The Spurs way is apparently nice and fun to watch, but without winning anything. All this nonsense will go out the window now with our manager.

Certainly food for thought! Sorry, couldn’t resist.

He’s a winner, through & through.
The whole stadium saw, felt & adopted his passion on Sunday.
(& to think there were some in the summer that didn’t want him?)

I think those peas are what the local gastropub would describe as “crushed” not mushy!

No one has mentioned whether the vintage port was well sourced.

My local would charge £11 for fish and chips, but the portion is way larger. Seems the fish in the picture has been made to look bigger by generous use of the batter – something that annoys me. The mushy peas look dehydrated. But for the price not bad.
The German sausage purveyor needs to use long rolls or someone is going to get their eye poked out!

Im liking Contes comments in today press conference. He is going to evaluate the players before Jan. Ie see who is worth keeping. He also says the intention is to win trophies.

No talk of project’s, no ‘I’m happy with this group’. Clear narrative, let’s see who is up to the challenge because I want to win things.

Making me peckish!

Guacamole out of a squirty plastic bottle looks a bit too much like a runny alien poo. What’s with massive wiener to fit a small round bun? Oops, accidentally pasted from my Tinder… 😂
