4 Chances Created & More Attacking Third Passes Than Anyone Last Night: Spurs Would Benefit From A Player Of This Calibre

By The Boy -

Aston Villa played some inspiring football last night and one particular star attraction was Jack Grealish. That might draw yawns on a Spurs blog, but what’s the phrase that pays? Context is our friend.

Jack’s been out for some long while, and this was his third appearance back since his last game on 13.02.2021 against Brighton. The Villan played 27 minutes against Everton, then 32 minutes against Palace. Against Tottenham, Jack managed 76 minutes and the contribution was explosive.

Successful passing accuracy 91%

Bale and Alli are attacking midfielders that are grotesquely overrated. Neither Spurs boys have come anywhere close to that quality of passing the ball, and they are both supposedly attacking midfielders.

Total actions / successful 73%

Total actions were another discipline where Grealish excelled when compared to our heroes. Again, Bale and Dele haven’t delivered anywhere near these numbers in their lives.

93% of Jack’s forward balls were accurate. The list is a series of stuff that ought to make our boys blush.

The next Spurs gaffer has his work cut out 👉 understatement of the millennium.

Villa have enough crap midfielders – they don’t need more

If Grealish leaves Villa – he’ll be going to bigger and better than Spurs.

But if he had come to Spurs a few years ago, would he now just drift around, occasionally doing a clever backpass… and enjoy his life in the Capital… like others have done?

Top player. Goes on the pitch and actually tries to affect the game as opposed to swanning around pretending to be a footballer.
