£22m Tottenham man has ‘advised’ club management to sign ‘very important player’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the RCD Mallorca attacker Lee Kang-in.

The 22-year-old South Korean has done quite well at the Spanish club and his performances have attracted the attention of the Premier League clubs.

The attacker was linked to the move to Tottenham recently and journalist Miguel Angel Diaz has now revealed to COPE that Spurs superstar Son Heung-min has urged the club to sign his compatriot this summer.

He said: “At this point, the teams competing to recruit Lee Kang-in are Atletico Madrid and Tottenham. [Son Heung-min] seems to have advised that he would be a very important player.”

The 22-year-old South Korean winger is versatile enough to play on both flanks and he could be a quality acquisition for Tottenham. He can operate as the central attacking midfielder as well.

Lee Kang-in will add goals and assists to the Tottenham attack. Furthermore, he is only 22 and he is likely to improve further with coaching and experience.

The South Korean international has already proven his qualities in La Liga and he will be hoping to take the next step in his career. Moving to Spurs would be an exciting opportunity and he is likely to be tempted to join the Premier League.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham come forward with a concrete proposal for the young attacker in the coming months. Tottenham certainly have the finances to pull off the transfer.

Lee Kang-in has six goals and five assists to his name across all competitions and those numbers are likely to improve when he is playing alongside better players like Harry Kane and Son at Tottenham.

Players like Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski have been rather underwhelming this season and Tottenham must look to bring in more attacking depth. The La Liga attacker would prove to be a superb, long-term investment for them.

Tottenham signed Son for £22 million in 2015 and he has proven to be an exceptional signing for them. They will be hoping that Lee Kang-in will be able to follow in his compatriot’s footsteps if he joins the club.
