Yesterday I dismissed the chances of Tottenham signing Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic, who we’ve been linked to by Mundo Deportivo.

After seeing this video of Jose Mourinho lauding the 32-year-old Croatian as a beIN pundit in 2019, I’ve become a bit more of a believer in the possibility.

Aside from the usual Spurs issue of wages, my doubts over the plausibility of the Rakitic move stemmed from our lack of necessity for another midfielder of his ilk. He plays between the boxes, where we’ve got Winks, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sissoko and Gedson. We need a holding player and, if anything else in midfield, someone to compete with Dele Alli at No.10.
But the way that Mourinho gushes over the roundedness of Rakitic’s game makes me think that he could find space for him anywhere across midfield.
Can you fit Rakitic, Ndombele, Lo Celso and Dele in the same team, though?
Why would he come to us with no CL?The whole charade doesn’t stand up to any scrutiny.
No then.
Nope, is the answer! 😂
Also does he want to come? Hes an intelligent footballer. Better than what we have in centre mid.
Can you pay him is the question?
