Fabrizio Romano, the renowned transfer expert, has sent Tottenham fans into a frenzy with his latest update on their potential signing of Micky van de Ven.
According to Romano, Spurs are close to reaching an agreement with Wolfsburg for the defender, and the deal is in its final stages.
Personal terms with the player have already been 100% agreed upon.
He tweeted:

Tottenham have been linked with the defender since almost the start of the summer transfer window and are on the verge of signing him.
The defense has been an area that has needed the most attention given that Tottenham conceded 63 goals last season, the most from any side in the top half of the table.
If the deal materialises, Micky van de Ven will join a revamped Spurs squad that has been bolstered by several high-profile signings this summer.
The North London club has so far signed Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison, Manor Solomon, Dejan Kulusevski, and Pedro Porro.
This indeed a major coup from Tottenham. Micky van de Ven is highly rated in the Bundesliga and has all the attributes to fit Postecoglou’s playing style.
However, despite the potential signing of van de Ven, there is still a need for further reinforcement in the central defense.
Tottenham will hope to bring in at least one more, if not two, decent center-backs to bolster their defensive line and strengthen their overall squad for the upcoming season.
