Jermaine Jenas isn’t the most positive pundit to listen to, but even he cannot resist congratulating Spurs for their most recent summer signing.
Spurs have just completed the signing of Republic of Ireland international, Matt Doherty and he will become the club’s new first choice right back.
The wing-back became linked with Spurs only a few days ago and the Lilywhites have moved swiftly to conclude the transfer.
Spurs have had to rely on the inconsistent Serge Aurier for some time now, but the Ivorian will have to settle for a place on the bench or leave the club.
Doherty comes to Spurs with a lot of pedigree after netting 15 goals and providing 15 assists for Wolves over the last two seasons.
He competed in the Europa League with Wolves last season as they reached the knockout stages of the competition.
Spurs will want to win that tournament themselves this season and Doherty will no doubt hope that he can contribute to that.
The signing has delighted the club’s fans and Jenas couldn’t hide his delight.
The former Spurs’ man took to Instagram to commend the Lilywhites for the signing.
He commented on Spurs’ post announcing the signing of the player, saying as quoted by OneFootball:
“Top signing this! Coy”
Jenas is sore because his best buddy Danny Rose has been left out of the team.
He’ll have to severely cut that hedge on his head first, so that they can get him in camera shot.
Jenas was too quick to right off Spurs chances of finishing in the top four before the transfer window had even closed. He should have waited to see who Jose & Levy had lined up first or said its to early to comment.
Jenas is no pessimist.. He’s a realist..
Craig burley on espn never has anything nice to say.
Nice guy in real life too. Lovely with the kids at Tottenham sports centre back in the then
Andros Townsend gonna make a great pundit one day.
I like JJ as a Pundit & think he is spot on with his Spurs analysis most of the time.
When you said negative pundit I was expecting Merson or Charlie Nicholas.
