‘Big day’ says the immaculately turned out Joe Hart, I wonder what he might be up to, eh?
There’s been a few meh-type mumbles online about this deal, but we’re talking about a record golden glove holder, a man with 75 England caps, whose won everything domestically, coming to Spurs on a free.
This is a great signing that ticks the home-grown box, and has an abundance of experience to share with the group. Another winner.
More, please.
Shame he is more entertaining off the pitch.
Same.. Jealous much… Football is better now though. Like most sports it’s evolved…. For starters no heavy leather balls with laces. No pitches that look like dirt swamps.. The tactics are now much deeper. More skill.
You can’t have glory winning nothing though.. Maureen has had far more glory and success then Billy Nic…. I don’t find losing year in year out entertaining or pretty.. Man city, liverpool, bayern all the top teams smashing us 5 6 or 7 nil……….. The sad truth here is that spurs DNA is described in one word….. Spursy.
Maureen has caused ripples and won wherever he’s been. Fergie was always backed at united. Maureen didnt spend much at porto and also Inter when he won the CL with them. He upset barcas and peps regime by winning with record points and goals in madrid. Pep had to leave and take a year out because of the stress. Multiple brawls I remember with maureen poking someone in the eye.. Noone else could stop barca back then. Maureens career has been fascinating in fact. We should be embracing our gaffer, he wins wars. He’s always been a live wire and had that edge…. I sincerely hope the Maureen we have now hasn’t changed too much. He seems too calm and collect at times.
This is why people are still sore mate.. We were unbeaten at the lane in that last year, Poch and our team were on the verge of greatness. We had 300 million plus saved up. Rather than invest in quality players to take us to the next level, walker replaced plus 2 or 3 decent signings, the superbowl is what we got with the team literally thrown out the window. Neglect that was so shocking it all predictably fell apart… We have a handful of quality players, but our squad is poor… My tune would change rapidly if our problems are addressed. Left back, right back, striker… More deadwood out… Ndombenchy gone and a proper centre mid coming in then I would be over the moon. A Steven Gerrard esq all rounded midfielder would help sort us right out. We need a creator to link up the defence and midfield to our forwards.
So will Levy, his first first time on the Rich List this year…
It is what it is man. Simple. Our time will come. Hold tight and enjoy the ride till then. IT IS COMING.
Too much to mention. That’s why I get annoyed about how hes done it. Compare to liverpool, which is a fair comparison, we finished above them loads over the last decade and they did it right. Proved with trophies. Wont ever stop me going for a beer with the chaos but I feel it ain’t my spurs anymore. Or football for that matter in general
400 mile round trip? I rate that. I hear the “poo bit too🌚
Fair play. But please dont doubt me. Season ticket for 5 years and live 200 miles away but still been everywhere following them. And watched some real poo over the years
Who said anything about “gangsters? I meant in club land (I don’t do clubbing anymore though) I’ve spent enough money with Tottenham. I have 9 kids/grandkids. I “gob off to rivals that slate my team also to fake spurs fans that do so too. Its how I am. I just love my club. Also you’re right, this ain’t China therefore its OK to challenge opinions.
Go and join a gangster forum then. All you do is gob off and call people who have a different opinion, incidentally cupcake it ain’t China and we are allowed an opinion. And if you had spent the time and money following that club I have then I suspect you wouldn’t doubt if I’m a fan or not
Surly you can see at the old place we couldn’t buy anyone. WE HAD NO MONEY COMING IN. we couldn’t keep up. Its why we built the new place. Plus nearly 30.000 more fans can watch us play. Moan moan moan while it was being built. Now it is built you still moan with the worlds most decorated manager in charge. I don’t understand you people I really don’t
Why would I worry about you? You’re nothing to me. Jealous coz I’ve got the links. (And its not only football)
Put it this way I know where the con club is. I got plenty of links to that club don’t worry about me
Woof!
It is. We’ll cope though.
A billion? That’s an awful lot of craft beer, cheese and 80’s rock band gigs! 😂
Fools like Liverpool you mean?
Saints really thought they’d get 35m why didn’t they tell Levy cough up or sell him to Everton who apparently really wanted him too? Perhaps they didn’t think he was a 35m player either.
Which sort of brings me to the conclusion that he was, yes actually a 15m player. Or are you going to try and correct me again and claim that Levy just beat them down? 😂
Good Luck, you’re hard work I am away out with my dogs I get more sense out of them.
Hojbjerg was a £35m player according to Southampton until Levy got the price reduced to £15m another saving of £20m.
We don’t pay that kind of level across the squad otherwise our wage bill wouldn’t be so small would it. That’s why we lack depth and quality in depth.
Rival clubs are running things like a fish and chip shop with a nice seated area,. While Levy’s running us like the winkle stall down the road.
It goes to show how thick Everton are with their money, they have spent £380m in the last 3 years and can’t even get into the top six.Fools and their money are easily parted!!
30 years to pay it. Peanut’s. We’ll be turning over over a billion a year soon.
The new place that’s saddled us with almost 1bn of debt? Yes, also at the new place Tappa…
Can we clone him?
Did they, Is this fact or paper talk? If that is actually true then it also proves my point, we don’t pay as much as our rivals, even for a 15m Saints player.
We will. More Kane’s to come man
Everton offered more in wages for Hojbjerg .
And at the n£w plac€? You live in Tottenhams past.
💤💤💤
Were any of those players offered better money elsewhere? No, because no other big club wanted those players. Which is sort of my point generally and why our wage bill is so much smaller than our rivals. Our squad isn’t good enough…
The players are happy to sign the contract for the money they are offered Bergwjn .Dier,Alderweirld,Tanganga,Skipp,Hojbjerg all in the past 6 months,if they don’t have a problem why do you? Would you prefare another N’dombele fasico on £200.000 per week.Look at Bale,Ozil,Kepa players who got paid too much and the clubs can’t shift them.Or Abraham wanting power with his team mate Hudson Odoi on £180,000 per week.We could have hired a manager for a lot less than Jose.
Jealously is ugly man. Its not my fault you ain’t got no links. Who you got at Tottenham? All you know is what you read. Side kick? I don’t need no side kick to deal with you weaklings
Is that it?
We might not see another Kane quality out of the academy in my time,a one off.
Tanganga and Skipp still haven’t proved that they’ll get to Kane or Winks’ level. I hope they do but Skipp didn’t force his way in when our midfield was almost broken and Amos has joined QPR. Not bad players at all but first choice for us, obviously not.
£15m a year cheap? What about N’dombele £200.000 per week cheap?
Jose came on a free too, so overall still cheap, cheap, cheap.
Are you seriously suggesting that Levy isn’t a tight wad just because of Jose’s salary? 7th highest wage budget and 17th highest net spend over 5 years… or had you forgotten?
😂
Correctamundo.
What other top club were after a 33 year old who’d been rubbish at his last two clubs? Those being Burnley and The Spammers incidentally.
I’m sure he’s still capable of a decent game here and there, so as a backup he’s ok. It’s non news though, it’s like saying they’ve just hired a new tea lady. In fact that would be of greater interest… 😂
I don’t actually, and neither do I only go to watch my team at home on free tickets and then preach about ‘real fans’. You’re as plastic as they come. 😂
Born winner mate, born winner!! 🤔
Hiring a photographer to come down the gym so you can gurn into the camera with greased up pecs is, er… a plonker in my book. 😂
Maybe the fruits of the academy are already producing with Kane,Winks,Tanganga, and Skipp how much would they cost £200m?
Alfie Whiteman who was fourth choice keeper and I believe a Tottenham lad can maybe go on loan and get experience. The loan fee Norwich are paying for Skipp for next season would cover Harts wages for his first season. Amos has been sold with a sell on fee and we got £12m for Kwp. CarterVickers may be sold and Cirkin and White will be assessed in preseason to see if they can make the step up to the first team squad.Other deals will involve selling Aurier,Foyth, & Rose before new players arrive.Parrot going to Millwall will do him the world of good playing every week at a higher level instead of the under 23’s.
Don’t think its unreasonable to assume hugo maybe got one more year at the top level so I agree there should be a plan in place to get his actual replacement in now. We always seem to be reactive instead of proactive. I quite liked butland as well tbh
I get that to an extent, but we were constantly told that we had a great academy so the question is where is the fruits of that? Because that would have saved a nice few quid in wages that could go towards sealing more important deals as we agree on
Third keeper hardly ever gets a game,so one for free is okay.
Yep I’d agree with that. But I disagree with building billion pound stadiums to put in free transfers from Burnley. Surely you can see that argument?
Right back ,striker,Leftback
And how would you prioritize those then?
Easty I really wouldn’t bother. I’ve just read the absolute garbage from people below explaining to people they ain’t real Tottenham when he horses in on freebies. Its laughable. His new side kick is obviously on the wind up as well. Bought in to win cups? You divs we bombed out the cup at home to the worst team in the league🤔🤔🤔
We had to replace Vorm, and he came on a free.Other positions will hopefully also get upgrades.
What’s the point in buying him then ? I’d have said left back right back back up striker higher priorities
Thanks for sharing,I’ve a better understanding now where you’re coming from.My uncle lived in Manchester and took me to City when I was over visiting on holiday from Belfast as a child,my brother supported Utd due to George Best and thought we were going to Old Trafford. After meeting Pat Jennings at around ten years of age Spurs have been my team ever since, also Gerry Armstrong playing alongside Ardiles and Hoddle were my earliest memories from WHL. Happy Times.Big Gerry lives nearby and still loves to talk football at every opportunity if he has the time.
My uncle, who was a season ticket holder at the time, kindly took me on my eight birthday as my father loathed football. Believe it or not, I met most of the Spurs team in the car park after the game and got most of their autographs in a book, which to my eternal shame, I later lost. In my teens, I used to go to Chelsea from time to time as I enjoyed watching the team of Osgood, Hudson and Cooke and most of my friends were Chelsea supporters. I also used to go to QPR, mainly to watch Stan Bowles when Sexton was the manager, and they also had Gerry Francis and Dave Thomas amongst others, but I was always a Spurs supporter first and foremost. As you can see, being something of a football purist, I find it hard to reconcile Spurs’s football heritage with Mourinho’s tactics but if we start winning, I imagine I will be cheering along with all the fans, but I have my doubts. That was a good Man City side you mentioned.
If its such a big day, couldn’t he at least tuck his shirt in? FFS
Have to say I’m with Tappa on this one (excluding the $$$$$ comments). I want us to win with style, but sometimes you have to be pragmatic and just plain win. I’d take a trophy playing the way we are now than playing the dynamite football we did for a while under Poch but win shag all. I think Jose has done a very good job stabilising us and making us hard to beat. That’s not pretty, but its solid. Your ire should be directed to Scrooge McLevy and his ability to single handedly undermine his managers with poor signings and haggling over the last bag of pork scratchings on most deals, thereby helping us to miss out on key signings that we needed at that time. I refer everyone to Liverpool as a model of how to improve and getting it done.
I am jealous of you getting to watch the great Spurs team in the sixties,I was taken to Maine Rd to watch Lee,Bell and Summerbee but refused to support City.
We all want to watch exciting Tottenham style football but things ain’t running like that at present. We brought a geezer in to win us some cups. How he wins them in this stage of our cup drought history is irreverent. Why is that so hard to understand.
The modern day fans want to win at all costs no glory in losing. If winning wasn’t the be all and end all Levy wouldn’t get the abuse he gets for only winning one cup in 20years. I don’t think we can demand the style & flair of Liverpool or City when Mourinho hasn’t got like for like in players or finances available to him. The record books don’t remember how nice on the eye the losing finalists played.
You completely miss the point as usual. We didn’t always lose playing pretty football and I only remarked that I prefer to watch teams that play exciting football, not just Spurs. I am surprised that you are such a Levy fan, considering we have only won a single trophy in twenty years under his stewardship. By the way, try posting without directing expletive laden rants at fellow Spurs fans jut because you don’t agree.
From the Beeb – “Tottenham announced Hart’s signing on Tuesday and he will compete with Paulo Gazzaniga to be Hugo Lloris’ deputy at the north London club.”
Because you talk in riddles even your friends were confused.
He meant Mourinho lol
Nope, ESPN says he has signed for Spurs – the phrase to “revive his career” was used and he was “back-up to Hugo Lloris”, which technically he is – he just has to get past Gazzaniga to get the No 2 spot.
Big Day? Maybe he’s getting married.
Our coach. In daniel’s head the tactical development of football reached its zenith 10 years ago.
Aurier is 27 now but will still receive a good fee if sold, the other poster was suggesting Levy likes to buy yesteryear players and when I asked who ? it was The likes of Saha & Nelson 8 years ago they were referring to,hardly relevant today. As N’dombele is still a THFC player and we don’t know the outcome it’s more difficult to say.He could be swapped for a player of the same value, sold or turn up next season to be the player we wanted.
Coming from someone who still lives with his mummy paying housekeeping
Well, what happened then? You gonna b!£ch till pretty football returns? I’m sure Tottenham would rather you fkd off till then
We’re not in a position to spend £8m on a 3rd choice keeper. That’s our striker budget!
Hart is a cracking bloke. I have it on good authority!
Quit playing games with joe Hart,
With joe Hart,
With Joe Hart,
He should have played from the start,
Joe Hart,
Joe Hart…
you said more common to buy young with resale – I am thinking of Ndombele and Aurier, bought young with issues.
Bank?
I can’t answer you if I don’t know what you’re talking about
very true! but I am shocked Levy wasnt looking for lower. I mean if I was one of the kids on £20k I would be a little miffed that he gets that much for doing nothing more than a coach role.
And rightly so for a third keeper who might not get a game.I bet you didn’t say cheap, cheap, cheap when you heard how much Jose gets paid.
It’s a free transfer so the wages aren’t a bother, don’t worry, the net spend remains at sub zero… 😂
Cheap, cheap, cheap!! 😂
Ha, you still going back too far – now its young with issues in the hope we can re-sell them.
Agreed, and at £27.5k a week, you have to ask if its a little over priced for 3 games over 2 years. You could go pick up just about anyone to fill the 3rd keeper spot, so they must have bigger plans I would hope.
Jose was without a club, Hart was without a club. These opportunities are too good for Daniel to pass up! 😂
He’d be learning from Hugo if anything. Seems like a bit of a plonker to me too…
I couldn’t think who he was talking about, that’s going back a long way.Young with a resale value is more common nowadays excluding our third choice goalie.
He’s an experienced backup, a replacement for Vorm. Hardly outstanding at either Spammers or Burnley.
I don’t see him putting any more pressure on Hugo than Vorm did (none) in fact Gazzaniga is the natural number two.
yeah – i thought that, but considering half his problem is he is really bad at fundamentals, not sure how great a coach he will be to a guy that has won the world cup.
100% agree!! I have been a Spurs fan since the 80’s. Against all my personal life influences because of players like Gazza, Linekar, Hoddle and Waddle. My main player though was Gazza, not because he was a “winner” but because he is the type of player that made you love football. For me, counting trophies is almost like looking at bank balances, its great as a bench mark of success, but really not the reason I watch the sport or the team.
ronan is a good guy I think he is referring to earlier days in Levy’s glittering career when ‘arry asked for some top signings and Levy delivered Saha & Nelson.
When I heard of this I wondered if he was brought in to cover and then go on to coaching.
The reason I started supporting Tottenham in 1962 was because my uncle took me to my first professional football match and I fell in love with the club, which wasn’t difficult to do in those days. Remaining as a supporter was made harder by the fact that I lived in South London most of my life. Nevertheless I carried on through thick and thin times like all Spurs fans. I always enjoyed it more when we played entertaining football under the likes of Billy Nick, Keith Burkinshaw, David Pleat, Terry Venables, Harry Redknapp and Poch. It’s in the DNA of Spurs fans and as Man City and Liverpool have proved, you can play entertaining football and win. The greatest teams in international football, for example, Hungary, Brazil, Holland France all played wonderful football. Watching us play like Arsenal used to under George Graham gives me very little pleasure.
“The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.”
Sense talk. proper spurs supporter talk. YID army” mandem
We don’t have any big names from yesteryear? Who are you referring to?
He can do the mentor thing at Tottenham. The more I think about it the more I like it.
Depends how bored I get. I honestly love your passion for Spurs, I really do, but I struggle to get behind Jose, I didnt like him at Chelsea (or how he spoke about us), I didnt like him at united or how he played (and I have friends behind the scenes there with very negative stuff to say about how he treated the lesser people – or how he saw them), I am not going to suddenly love him now, to win me over the football needs to be what I enjoy watching, that is why many of the fan base still love Poch, he made us proud to be Spurs fans again. Jose can still win me over, but needs to do it on the pitch.
Bickering done. But I’m still gonna challenge all your nonsense. Feel free to challenge my $h!t
what colours are you wearing. Not sure what colours Jose affiliates with. Personally I support Spurs, and was brought up believe “It’s no use just winning, we’ve got to win well” but you are right, lets spit on what Spurs are, to win, MAYBE. I support Spurs and our ethos on how we play. If I wanted to simply win lots, I would have been a glory hunter. for me, if football is boring, I wont watch it. For people with nothing better in their lives then carry on.
