Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has offered an update on striker Richarlison ahead of the upcoming Premier League match against Brentford.
The Brazilian forward has been sidelined due to an injury sustained during training, and his recovery seems to be taking longer than expected.
Postecoglou may have got annoyed by the repeated questions regarding the Brazilian.
He confirmed that Richarlison has not yet resumed first-team training, suggesting that his return to the pitch may still be a while away.
As quoted by Football London, the 59-year-old head coach said:
“He [Richarlison] is a fair way off, I think you should stop asking me about him until I give you a bit of an update. He has still not trained with the first team so he is still a bit off.”
Since arriving at Spurs, Richarlison has faced ongoing challenges with his fitness, and this latest setback adds to the difficulties he’s experienced in making a consistent impact at the club.
Despite careful management of his pre-season activities to ease him back into action, the injury has disrupted his plans for the new season.
However, Tottenham are better equipped to handle Richarlison’s absence this season thanks to the summer signing of Dominic Solanke.
