Yet another injury blow for Spurs: Defender sidelined after picking up injury during Saturday’s game

By Mehdi Gokal -

Ryan Sessegnon has encountered yet another setback in his bid to regain full fitness.

The young winger has been grappling with injuries since the summer, initially sidelined by a hamstring issue sustained during training.

Although he made a brief return to action against Burnley last month, his comeback was short-lived as he suffered another setback.

In Tottenham’s U21 match against West Ham on Saturday, Sessegnon was included in the starting lineup, but his participation was cut short after just 35 minutes.

During the game, he appeared to pull up sharply after making a decisive play, prompting concern among the coaching staff.

Despite receiving medical attention, Sessegnon was unable to continue and was eventually substituted, adding to his frustrating spell on the sidelines.

This latest injury setback casts doubt on Sessegnon’s future at Spurs.

TBH Says:

Despite his undeniable talent and potential, his recurring fitness issues have hindered his progress and limited his impact on the pitch.

It’s plausible that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may consider offloading Sessegnon in the near future, especially if a suitable replacement can be found.

With Destiny Udogie also occupying the left-back position, acquiring additional cover in that area may become a priority for the club.
