Tottenham are reportedly in talks with Lille over the possible signing of goalkeeper Mike Maignan.
Michel Vorm’s current contract expires this summer, while Hugo Lloris will turn 34 later this year as Paulo Gazzaniga is the only other senior shot-stopper in the squad.
In turn, Spurs may well need to consider their situation between the posts in the summer, and a target has seemingly been identified.
As reported by Eurosport France journalist Manu Lonjon, Maignan has been eyed as a possible solution, with talks said to be underway while it’s noted that current Spurs goalkeeping coach Nuno Santos worked with him earlier this season.
The 24-year-old has made 37 appearances for Lille in this campaign, conceding 45 goals while keeping 13 clean sheets, as he has established himself as a key figure after his move from Paris Saint-Germain in 2015.
Further, he has represented France from U16 to U21 level and will no doubt hope to make a breakthrough at senior level in the coming years.
Whether or not he continues that push with Tottenham remains to be seen, but the fans below are seemingly in favour of making a move this summer to shore up the club’s options between the posts from next season onwards.
