Football teams lose games and sometimes, those losses are incomprehensible to the coaches. That’s not a worrying business in itself, but Tottenham today were extremely poor in more or less every department.
Clearly José was defending the incompetents in the squad that he fielded this afternoon. I’ve yet to trawl through the stats to dig out the individual errors, but there were far too many of them.

I agree broadly with what you’re saying but Jose isn’t picking these players because they don’t do the jobs he wants them to do as well as other players. He’s picking functionally over flair or creativity. Sissoko and Bergwijn being picked over more creative options for example. He needs to change it, and fast…
Only the media and some fans has talked up title challenges, Mourinho has not , I just want the guy to win us a trophy and I stick with that.
Must be difficult sitting there saying stuff while thinking “we lost because Aurier is still a bit sh/te and the best strike pair in the world™ couldn’t hit a barn door between them in this game”.
Challenging for the title probably isn’t on, unless we respond immediately and don’t look back. Currently would take top 4 and a cup. Mourinho still has some weeding out to do in respect of the squad.

We need to be fair to Mourinho, we’re ahead of schedule, I didn’t foresee a title challenge this season even if it is petering out before Christmas.
He needs the same time and quality players Klopp was given. I think the exile of Dele has to end now we can’t have a player of his quality not even making the squad. Gareth Bale needs to start contributing now if we are to have any chance of finishing strongly.
