World Cup star strongly linked with Spurs has a ‘firm desire’ to move to England in January – Journalist reveals

By Mehdi Gokal -

According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Mohammed Kudus who has been linked with a move to Tottenham, wants to leave Ajax during the January transfer window.

He has had a fantastic start to the 2022-23 season, and despite Ghana’s elimination in the World Cup group stage, the midfielder has piqued the interest of several top clubs across Europe.

The Sun had earlier reported that Spurs were interested in signing the 22-year-old, and the North London club’s interest has since been confirmed by Calciomercato who reported last week that Conte wants to beat Juventus and AC Milan to the signature of the highly-rated Ajax star.

And David Ornstein has now revealed that the player has a ‘firm desire’ to leave Ajax mid-season in January amidst strong interest from leagues across Europe. However, the report further states Kudus’ personal preference will be a move to England.

Ornstein further claims that the Dutch giants are expected to demand a fee of around €35m to €40m for Kudus but are reluctant to let him leave in the winter transfer window.

Spurs have been interested in Kudus for quite some time now with reports from Ghana Web previously claiming that the club are ‘confident’ they can sign him. Spurs had also sent scouts to watch him play a few months ago.

He would be an excellent signing for Tottenham, and at only 22 years old, he appears to have a promising future ahead of him. He’s also a very versatile player, capable of playing in midfield, on either wing or as a striker.
