“Will be worried” – Roy Keane makes worrying Tottenham claim after weekend result

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur climbed up to the fourth place in the Premier League, following a dramatic injury-time win against Brighton on Saturday.

The win was crucial for Spurs, who could not afford another draw, especially after being held to a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park by Everton last week – Jarrad Branthwaite scoring a stoppage time equaliser.

However, it was Spurs who came up with a stoppage time goal this time. The goal came from a decisive counter-attack in the 96th minute. Maddison, Richarlison and Son were involved in a quick sequence of play before the skipper provided an exquisite assist for Brennan Johnson, who netted the winner in the last minute of the game.

The North London club were banking on Aston Villa, trailing by just a point, to lose points in their match against Manchester United. Their wish was granted as Manchester United beat them 2-1 at Villa Park, solidifying their lead over them.

Nevertheless, former Irish midfielder Roy Keane has issued a warning to Tottenham, suggesting that Manchester United could swiftly narrow the gap.

Currently trailing by only six points, Keane believes Spurs and Villa should remain vigilant, with United gathering momentum.

In his remarks on Sky Sports, the pundit stressed that both Tottenham and Villa should be worried as United close in on them.

He said (via Spurs Web):

“I think they (Man Utd) have that momentum and the teams ahead of them, particularly Spurs and Villa who they will be hunting down will be worried, absolutely.”

TBH Says:

Every point matters from now onwards. Spurs will need to be on it every week, as they cannot afford further slip-ups during the season’s final stretch.
