Who’s safe? One Spurs player ‘can go for the right price’ as Antonio Conte eyes two more signings

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been quite active in the transfer market this summer and they have pulled off some impressive signings in the form of Fraser Forster, Ivan Perisic, Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Clement Lenglet and Djed Spence.

However, it seems that the London club are not done in the transfer market yet.

According to a report from Evening Standard, Tottenham ‘remain in the market for a creative attacker and may target another defender’.

Meanwhile, they will look to offload some of the fringe players as well. The report further states that young defender Japhet Tanganga ‘can go for the right price’.

The young defender has been linked with the likes of AC Milan and it remains to be seen whether Spurs are willing to sell him permanently or sanction a loan move.

Club director Fabio Paratici is currently in Italy to speak with multiple clubs regarding outgoings and Tanganga’s future is expected to be sorted soon.

The talented defender can play as a centre-back as well as a right back and he needs to join a club where he can play regular first-team football.

Tottenham have the likes of Cristian Romero, Davinson Sanchez and Clement Lenglet at their disposal and Tanganga will find it difficult to break into Antonio Conte’s starting line-up.

Sort of agree with COYS
After Jack Clark we are all wary of the Levy punts but JC was different – very few had seen or heard of him whereas DS is well known and imho wotrh a punt.

This is my viewpoint on this H. Having listened to Conte’s earlier interview, enthusing about the other five off-season acquisitions, in particular why he personally valued them, I don’t have a problem with the Spence purchase or Conte’s candid admission about it.

Paratici and Conte have a good working relationship and surely this Spence buy originated from Paratici. So, given the ‘home grown’ quotas, the fact it is a position of need, the upside to the boy and reasonable ‘up front’ price tag, Conte was willing to ‘rubber stamp’ the deal.

This is not unreasonable, as Conte would not have known the quality of the boy himself and with a degree of trust existing between him and Paratici, plus probably a quick ‘butchers’ at a highlight reel, he decided that there was no reason not to put faith in Paratici’s judgement.
