THFC issued lifetime bans within hours and yet the CPS refused to take it to Court because there was no case to answer. No crime had been committed. The bans were rescinded and aside from this vile, hateful blah blah blog nobody ever mentions it.

Actually a really valid point, when the group that has previously been slurred, de-humanised etc by the use of a word go on to reclaim that word then the language of the world evolves. It’s just common sense that the only people who can use that word in its new form are the group it was previously applied to negatively but over time (a lot of time!) that also can change. Just imagine thirty years from now a black owned, managed and (in its beginning) black players club somewhere in Africa whose fans adopt the N word to describe themselves and chant that at their matches. That club then goes on to attract non black players and a wider non black support base, who could end up chanting that too!
It’s exactly like the ‘N’ word. A word i can’t use (and wouldn’t want to) because i’m not black and i could claim no racial or cultural ownership or credible link to it. Spurs fans have reclaimed Yid in the same way and it’s for Spurs fans ONLY. We use it (black and white, jews and gentiles alike) to identify ourselves, address ourselves and describe ourselves proudly. There is no present day negativity in that word for us, we don’t aim it at anyone else and as far as we are concerned it has no other use case.
