‘When this all calms down’… Top journalist says of Harry Kane, ‘He’ll be happy to stay’

By Mehdi Gokal -

Harry Kane’s on-field performance during Tottenham’s pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk was nothing short of impressive, scoring four goals in their 5-1 victory, with Dane Scarlett adding the fifth goal.

Despite the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding him, Kane has shown no signs of being deterred and remains committed to giving his best for the club.

It was a thoroughly dominating performance from Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham who has already done wonders at the club in his short time.

And Tottenham fans chanted “Harry Kane, we want you to stay” during the match, expressing their desire for the striker to remain at the club.as reported by Alasdair Gold.

According to David Ornstein, Kane is content to stay at Tottenham if a transfer deal with Bayern Munich or any other club is not agreed upon.

He even suggests that Kane might consider renewing his contract with Spurs if the club demonstrates the ambition to be competitive under manager Ange Postecoglou and aims to achieve success in the Champions League and win trophies.

Speaking to ViaPlay Football, he said said:

“As we speak Harry Kane is starting Tottenham’s final pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk and he’s captain.

“He’s run out, he’s clapped the fans, and so I think if Harry Kane does not have a transfer agreed between Tottenham and Bayern Munich, or any other club, then he’ll be happy to stay.

“He’ll play, he’ll score goals he may even renew his contract if Tottenham show him the ambition that they’re competitive under Ange Postecoglou.

“Can they get back into the Champions League and win trophies because Harry Kane has always wanted to win with Tottenham. Right now there is no agreement in place.

“Bayern Munich keep bidding. Daniel Levy is not responding. He doesn’t like to be given ultimatums or a deadlines. That was a bad move by Bayern Munich.

“But when this all calms down in the coming days will they keep pushing, and what will Daniel Levy say? We do not know.

“Harry Kane if he starts the Premier League season with Tottenham, his preference is not to leave.

“But you never know in football if the money goes higher it often talks and with just 12 months left on his contract it is a massive gamble by Daniel Levy to keep saying no because he could lose him for free in the summer of 2024.

“The only club he wants to join this summer if he is to leave is Bayern Munich.”

As of now, there is no agreement in place between Tottenham and Bayern Munich, with the German club reportedly continuing their efforts to secure Kane’s signature.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has not responded to Bayern’s bids and seems reluctant to be rushed into making a decision.
