“What I can say is…” – Sky Sports man claims it would take ‘something crazy’ for transfer to happen

By Mehdi Gokal -

Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge has claimed that it will take something crazy for Tottenham to accept a bid for Kane.

A number of clubs are after signing the England striker including Manchester United, Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich.

But it is the German club who have shown the most intent so far, having already made a £60m bid for the player.

The bid was of course swiftly rejected by Tottenham as it fell way short of their valuation of the player.

It has been previously reported that Daniel Levy has slapped a £100m price tag on the player.

But according to Bridge, it will take even more than £100m for Levy to even consider selling him.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, the Sky Sports reporter said:

“What I can say is, if that bid [Bayern’s one] has gone in, it would have been rejected — and Tottenham will pretty much reject anything. It would have to be something crazy, over £100m, for Daniel Levy to even consider it.

“He’s so important to the football club. He scored 30 goals in a team that finished eighth. It’s pretty unbelievable, really. I know [Erling] Haaland’s got all the plaudits, but I just can’t believe he got that amount of goals in a very poor Tottenham side last season.”

Bayern are expected to return with a second offer for Kane which is expected to be in the region of £80m.

The club are hopeful that Kane will push for a move that will help them get the deal done.

But Bayern’s direct pursuit of the player including Thomas Tuchel personally meeting the player and convincing him to join them has reportedly left Levy furious.

Any negotiations between the two now are expected to not be done on a friendly note with the report claiming that Levy wants to punish them by making them pay even more that £100m.

Meanwhile Spurs have offered Kane a new lucrative offer which will see his wages drastically increase.

However, as per the report in Guardian, Kane has no intentions of signing the contract extension immediately and will take his time to explore other options while the transfer window remains open.
