“What a joke club we are” These fans not impressed with the latest manager linked to Tottenham

By Bruce Grove -

Nuno Espirito Santo is now the new favourite to be named the next Tottenham manager and just like with Gennaro Gattuso, not all Spurs fans are on board.

The hashtag #notogattuso soon started trending on social media and the same has happened with Santo, with #notonuno doing the rounds yesterday.

BBC reporter Ian Dennis ran with the news that Santo is now the leading contender to replace Jose Mourinho as the Tottenham manager and his colleague Simon Stone Tweeted the story and as was to be expected, there was a significant backlash.

There are a variety of reasons why Santo is not popular with some Spurs fans including his style of pragmatic football.

Here are just a few of the responses and as you will read, the idea of Santo becoming the next Tottenham manager is not a popular one. Basically, he is seen as a poor man’s Mourinho and that is not something that some are keen on at all.

Matters not who it is…..Nuno, Chirpy, Conte, Mason…. football ain’t on the agenda. Just hire someone already?? Who gives a toss who it is? Let’s just get this next charade started for the next 18 months….

I won’t be helping fund it, but that’s nothing new….looks like more and more are joining me.

Sod off ENIC destroyer of football clubs.

Clearly Wolves were blighted by the loss of their key striker / principal talisman Martinez!!

Fair point, but for me he changed his system to suit the players available and it did not work which at Spurs I see him facing similar issues

From playing fluid football his Wolves team became static a bit similar to Jose`s spurs team the difference being Jose had Kane and Son scoring goals and Kane is looking like he will no longer be an option

This farce must be making the sale of the naming rights really interesting for the fella brought in to get it done. Levy having his Ratner moment?

From previous blog:

Reality check time hello is anybody out there?? Wakey wakey. Let’s all wake up and smell the coffee beans regarding our managerial farce when IMO Nuno deserves far greater respect than being rather prematurely disrespectfully condemned as a no hoper. Admittedly backed by the Wolves board with funds buying numerous talented Portuguese players where were Wolves before he took over?? Answer a struggling outfit going nowhere fast. Next

He’s a bit meh in swashbuckling football but would say he’s done better than Potter or Parker. Looks like Paratici is having a pragmatic view in the club of building a platform and stabilisation to then go on and maybe win something. Past few seasons City, Chelsea and Liverpool prioritised defensive recruitment or formations to win stuff.

In fairness I am not a fan, however I was at Wembley I think it was over the Xmas period a few years back, and Harry and Son missed a few early chances in the first half,

They came out and ripped us a new one in the second half winning the game comfortably at that time he was doing well, but injuries and losing his better players he certainly did not cope too well
