“We haven’t been told anything” – Brendan Rogers believes Leicester-Spurs match will occur

By Eddie Razo -

This past week, Tottenham Hotspur had a COVID outbreak within their squad. Some coaches and players tested positive for the virus, resulting in the north London club having their UEFA Conference League match canceled against Stade Rennais, which won’t be rescheduled.

Furthermore, Spurs also had their Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion postponed to their outbreak. Tottenham’s next match comes Thursday against Leicester City.

There’s no further word regarding the fate of this game, but Leicester City manager Brendan Rogers believes that matchup will go as planned. The English manager states he hasn’t received word, so he’ll be preparing for Tottenham with the mindset that the game will occur despite his squad dealing with their coronavirus outbreak in their team.

‘I can’t give the number of Covid cases,’ said Rodgers. ‘It’s medical and something I don’t need to declare to you, but we have a host of players out, a mixture of Covid and of course players that aren’t well, so that’s as much as I can say,” Rogers said, with the Daily Mail relaying his comments.

“I’ve not heard anything that the Spurs game is not on, and obviously with the European decision as well, with Tottenham not being able to play (UEFA have said their meeting with Rennes will not be rescheduled), I suspect the game would go ahead. We haven’t been told anything otherwise.”

Leicester City sits right behind Tottenham in eighth place, so The Foxes will hope this game occurs to close the gap between themselves and Antonio Conte’s squad. Both teams have aspirations of finishing in the top four, so this match is crucial as they keep on par with West Ham United, who holds the four spot at the moment.

Brodgers and friends earning their crust. What a crock. Hows the exchange of medical tyranny for God given inalienable freedoms going for the majority? Time to stop calling people “conspiracy theorists” when they are right about everything. Unity needed. No consent needed.
