Watch Tottenham target Sam Johnstone’s last 10 reactive saves

By The Boy -

This is one of those ‘hold yer nose‘ type transfer rumours, in so much that the player isn’t coming from the top tier. Traditionally, I have issues with Tottenham being linked with transfers that have been relegated or come from lower leagues.

I’ve lost count of the sob stories from advocates of these individuals. ‘Oh, it’s because…‘, ‘You need to understand…‘ Excuses before the guy has even donned the Lilywhite. Utter shamelessness.

With a goalkeeper, one cannot be so blunt. A man with eleven fools in front of him might be lacking in blame.

Johnstone looks like a very interesting option.

Is Contedust the same as the Turdpolish Poch used on the likes of Dele? Same difference in Levyland… 😆

You also liked Royal as a WB. Enough said.

I also recall you coming on here after one of our recent poor performances, I think against Brentford when we didn’t have a shot on target, and you roundly blamed Kane and Son in such a simplistic manner.
Why don’t you take a mouthful of your Conte dust now and again, hopefully it will prevent dumb comments like that.

I’m entitled to my opinion and you need to learn that other people’s opinions should be respected disagree or not.
Your continued character assassination of Pochettino allied to your almost religious deity worship of Conte points to a very simplistic outlook on football, also your obsession with stats.
In short you’re not such the smart arse you think you are.

Oh grow up. From my memory you were on your own waffling about Conte dust as we got beaten by the likes of Boro, Burnley, Southampton, Wolves, Brighton etc.
In reality it was “Eddie Howe dust” that looks to have go us top 4.
Now lets see some trophies before like you I worship Conte as a religious deity.

I think Hugo is of more value to us over a season than he’s given credit. I also don’t see his game declining yet either. He’s never been particularly great at distributing the ball, but he makes up for it in other ways. We will need one serious keep to replace him and it not be detrimental to us and I wouldn’t like to put names forward at this stage. I’m not really up on my keepers, they’d need to be top drawer though…

We were in a position to finish 4th months ago, then we lost at home several times to lower half opposition and let Woolwich back into it. Conte had been at the club several months when that happened, However Conte has dragged this shambles of a squad into the top 4. No mean feat, I certainly didn’t question what a good coach he is, looking at his recent record.

However this ‘Contedust’ you speak of will not restore our nonexistent bench for next season, or make up for those shortcomings with the added burden of playing Champions League matches too. We will have done this by the skin of our teeth, he will have pre-season (if he doesn’t walk) but unless there is significant changes to the squad this summer we will be flailing around again, and Conte will get bored…

Woolwich look like a team that perform best when the pressure is off them, so I feel they’ll play with a bit of freedom and beat Everton narrowly, Everton will be the ones under pressure in that game…

Nonsense, don’t you ever watch our games? Hugo has been a key player in our charge for top four. He’s dug us out time and again with some great saves…. Look at the stats too, he’s been consistently in the top 3 every year… He’s there right now in 3rd. Only Allison and Eddison have outperformed him this season… Top 6? No, he wouldn’t make the top 2…… Pickford isn’t even top 17 on this years stats, he’s a serious downgrade. He has 1 great game followed by 3 sub par games with a disastrous game thrown in frequently, before or after he’s guaranteed to flap. Then he never accepts responsibility for his mistakes, he shouts at and blames his teammates.

I told you we would be in it as soon as Conte took over.. You were one of the few here who laughed, doubted, and refused to believe in the power of the ConteDust. You’ve doubted Conte and Spurs for months, you and Sonny even claiming the Gooners have superior players and will beat us… I’m glad it’s taken you until the last day of the season to realise.. Lol.. Up the Yids.

Prefer Sam to Nick.. Probably not much between them though, either would be fine for our 2nd choice… Neither are on the same level as Cap.

Gonna watch the Brentford-Leeds game on Sunday, more exciting than watching City win yet another title.

An exciting season this year, top and bottom is going to be decided on the last game. Good news is that it looks like Everton will go to arse needing points.

I’m surprised we haven’t been linked with Watford players Sarr & Dennis. Levy loves prey on the carcass of a relegated team

Hugo is 35 now and not what he was. More than enough games for him as no.2. Still a great shot stopper, but he wouldn’t get into any of the other top 6.

No way Pickford or Pope come to be Hugo’s understudy.

Deffo an upgrade on Gollini. Though if Burnley or Everton (unlikely) go down, we should nab one of those. I like Pickford’s distribution, would be perfect for Son and Kane.

First thing is he’d have 10 in front of him not 11!

looking at his ‘showreel’, they are saves I’d expect my son to have saved when he was 9 years old!

Im sure he’d make a decent reserve keeper for the cups – but personally I’ve not seen enough of him to judge him long term.

Would he be good enough to challenge Lloris for the No.1 shirt?

Either way, Spurs need a new second keeper as the last few have been woefully inconsistent.
But like anything, if not used regularly in the environment it’s required for, it gets rusty which as there are no longer reserve teams, any second string keeper is gonna be ring rusty when they get a proper game.
