Watch today’s Daily Briefing Feat. Spurs walkout music + a nasty theft at the Brighton game

By The Boy -

What week it’s been. Some of us were focused on the remaining seven games of the season, which had been billed as seven cup finals. Others were more interested in nipping over to the States to watch the golf. What strikes some fans as an equally curious decision, is the installation of ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ as the walkout music at home games.

In a black comic twist, we have the tale of a very naive fan who had a lump of Tottenham merchandise hoisted.

Great number. Suits us down to the ground.

I imagine a Spurs sausage roll wouldn’t have any pork meat at all. Probably something cheaper. Donkey?

I would have thought a suitably adapted anti-Levy anthem, such as “Won’t Get Fooled Again!” by the Who, might have been more appropriate! “Meet the new boss, same as the old boss!”, etc.

I don’t suppose the pork in the sausage roll was properly dead and it walked off on it’s own. Result of Daniel cutting back on the cooking time to save electricity.

🤣 I wouldn’t leave a half-eaten sausage roll on my seat if I had any designs on finishing it. He must be from a country with an unusually high moral compass. Maybe some good soul has handed it to the authorities for safe keeping. Ahem.

With regards to the Substack, I wasn’t acquainted with it until yesterday, but having had a sniff around, I think the idea has legs. I have recently argued that I prefer to engage in debate amongst like-minded people rather than read re-printed stuff that I scrolled past earlier on NewsNow. That’s not to lambast the other contributors – I realise I did unwittingly few weeks ago – I know they have an important role to play in producing daily content.
But, yeah, we’ll give it a rattle and see where it goes.
Best of luck.

Music can make a big difference, so using Manilow as the motivator is a bit wishy washy. Meybe U2’s ‘I still haven’t found what I’m looking for’ is more apt!

Interviews are so bland these days. Gone are the days of Alan Pardew and Joe Kinnear having a right go, and when they did the ex-pro pundits were apoplectic because views should stay in the dressing room. Airing dirty laundry in public is a no go isn’t it! We all wanted to hear Lloris having a right go about our defence’s concentration (even De Gea had a side swipe at his Utd teammates this season and Frank Lampard had his critics for calling out his woeful blue nose squad), but what we get is a load of finely balanced corporate diatribe.

New platform at the price of a pint! Might not sound a lot but I don’t go to any other blog sites, just get on the interweb and come here for free. I used to read lots of Spurs blogs, but kept getting the hump so I filtered in to here.

Anyhow, I have a brand new Spurs scarf and 3 Spurs home tops with Son on the back. Any takers let me know!

I’d rather we didn’t refer to the remaining games as cup finals. Results in finals and semi finals in the last 22 years haven’t been great. Far from it in fact.

Things would be far easier if we took each game as it came with zero expectation. This is Spurs and Spursy performances when any kind of pressure or expectation rears it’s head will only end in tears.
