The news that Mathys Tel has been signed permanently by Spurs is puzzling, to put it mildly. Indeed, Sofascore perhaps sums the lad up best with the note: Strengths: No outstanding strengths; Weaknesses: No outstanding weaknesses.
Given the paucity of attacking threats in this Spurs side, why the Frenchman was brought in remains shrouded in mystery. Perhaps this will even feel like a slap in the face or some of our youngsters?
