Watch: Antonio Conte loses his cool on the touchline in a bizarre moment of madness

By Mehdi Gokal -

Antonio Conte lost his cool on the sidelines as he knocked the ball out of Pep Lijnders hands.

Antonio Conte is well-known for allowing his emotions get the better of him, and this happened again against Liverpool.

Moments after Spurs pulled one back, Antonio Conte was seen getting worked up on the touchline, slapping the ball out of Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders’ hands, rather needlessly, given that Robertson already had the ball in his hand and the game was about to resume.

Watch the incident below:

The Italian was of course shown a yellow card for his actions. It is not the first time Conte has lost his head on the sidelines and got a booking for it.

Remember the famous spat with Tuchel earlier in the season? The Italian clashed with the then Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel in a tense 2-2 draw after he celebrated the goal in front of opposition’s bench.

And the spat continued after the full time whistle when the final whistle handshake turned fiery. Tuchel refused to let Conte’s hand go during their handshake because the Tottenham manager was not looking him in the eyes, sparking a brawl. They had to be separated and were both given red cards.

Yes we played some great football in the second half it must be said. I don’t want to be too critical because it’s a long old season and it’s where we end up that matters. Hopefully when we get everyone back fit again we’ll be back to free scoring ways. COYS

We have proven in the 2nd half that we are capable of applying pressure and playing at the other end of the pitch, so I am baffled as to why they don’t do it more – you could even see Conte losing his rag and screaming PLAY PLAY at them, waving them forward so I don’t even know how much of it is down to him!

Spot on. Conte< Maureen, Poch, LongChops, the list goes on. Levy’s it’s above all this failure yet Lewis let’s him continue unabated- winning means nothing to these caaaants. Only parting anyone and everyone with their cash. I’m disgusted.

He’s fed up with working for a bunch of negligent parasites. Why he took the job is one of the mysteries of the ages.

I just don’t think we can afford to play like this all the time with the players we have. Like you say, a bit of flexibility would go a long way. Sitting off seems to not only drain our confidence, but it also hands confidence and the initiative to the opponent. You don’t bring in a manager of Conte’s proven ability and give him the inadequate tools to get the job done his way. Which tells me that Levy only ever saw Conte as short term fixer and he’s up to his old tricks of backing the manager minimally, just enough to possibly get in the top four (in this case).

The price of everything and the value of nothing seems to guide Levy’s running of the club, it never ends…

As much as I want to pretend it’s all about winning, I’m no longer looking forward to these big games with a few tins of beer like I used to. It’s become a joyless experience for me. Whilst I do love to win and am not grumbling about the top 4 position and the advance in the champions league, it’s a hard watch under Conte. I can’t help but feel that we could be battering some of these teams if only there was a bit of flexibility in the style of play. Still, mustn’t grumble
