Manager Ange Postecoglou was asked about his exclusion after the game to which he replied that the defender pulled up sore and he did not train before the game. The reason he was left out of the Burnley game was because of an injury and not because of any potential transfer.
The Australian then came up with an angry reaction when the reporter questioned whether his exclusion was really because of an injury or is it because of a rumoured agreement with Bayern Munich that would see the player leave the club this month.
Postecoglou then urged the reporter not to doubt his integrity and he also claimed that he is prepared to show Tottenham’s training system footage in order to prove but he did not make up an excuse.
He said via Football London: “Don’t question my integrity. When I say he’s injured, he’s injured. He didn’t train yesterday. I can get Vision [Spurs’ training system footage] for you or you can ask him. It’s got nothing to do with anything else.
“When you ask me whether he’s injured, he’s injured. I didn’t make that up. If he wasn’t injured I’d say he wasn’t selected. It’s easy for me to say. He’s injured and in terms of anything else that’s happening, not on my radar.”

Dier has struggled for regular game time at Tottenham this season and he will be out of contract in the summer. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the northern club decided to sell him this month. It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
