Video – “They respected us.” Jose points towards Chelsea’s defensive approach as a sign

Jose Mourinho was once again asked about how Chelsea approached the game today and he responded that they played defensive because they respected Tottenham.

It is arguable who was the more defensive but Jose was spot on when he said that Chelsea respected Tottenham, they did, especially in the last 15 minutes when they started to fall back more.

It shows how far Spurs have come under Mourinho when a top-six team on their own ground is basically scared.

We didn’t test Chelsea’s rearguard often enough with the best attacking duo in the PL,Son & Kane. Maybe if we had been braver we could have got all three points and put a 5 point gap between ourselves and Chelski. Jose is delighted with the point anything else he says is mind games like his little pony remarks regarding our title chances.

Yep, RoDon played really well considering he’s playing title contenders in his 1st ever start for us.

As Jose said, he made less errors than Dier & RoDon really grew into the game.
He put his head in where it hurt on more than 1 occasion.

It’s looking good for RoDon & Tanganga as our future CB pair.

Naturally nervous on his debut I was quietly impressed with Rodon. Himself conscious of his errors IMO he slotted into the back four well and will learn. Conversely I was unimpressed with Begwijn whom IMO should have been hooked at HT and replaced by Bale. Having got into a goal scoring position in the first half he badly shot over. Regarding Lo Celso as Jose said he had 3 options at the end to win the match for Spurs but took the wrong option (of either setting up Kane or Moura) which naturally we be celebrating had he scored instead of which he badly fluffed his golden opportunity!

We made a point which I’d taken before the Chelsea stalemate. Now onto the small matter of the NLD!!
