Our man Ndombele saw out 81-minutes last night for France. This dribble and killer pass was great to see, as was Tanguy’s game generally against mighty Kazakhstan.
A 95% passing accuracy gives us an idea of the big man’s quality in this World Cup qualifying win.
Offensive duels
Didier Deschamps’ side faces Bosnia-Herzegovina next, and that game is on Wednesday. In an ideal world, Tanguy is either rotated or plays fewer minutes, ahead of our next game against Newcastle, on Sunday April 4th.
Tangy has a long way to go to be considered in the same breath as Dembele.
IMO Moussa Dembele was better, his principal deficiency being that despite his potent left peg he frustratingly failed to chip in with enough goals which ought to have been a minimum of say 10 per season!!
Games like these are a waste of time and totally uncompetative. There should be a pre-qualifying round for the smaller countries, based on their ranking, with perhaps the best two going forward into the group stage.Continuing hammerings can’t be good for their moral and when crossing the halfway line is considered an achievement.
This would at least enable the games to be more competative and evenly matched for the supporters, when they are eventually allowed back. The problem is that the authorities are always looking to increase the number of games and tournaments and then wonder why players are injured more often.
I have had doubts about the lad being able to compete at the top level and for a full game, that hasn’t changed, plus his style of play means he is always going to take knocks , which he struggles to overcome.
So the physical and the mental side need to improve a lot more before people start making claims of him being a top player …or was that top top ?
He is ‘that’ good in terms of talent. He needs to develop and define his role and be consistent. Much of this is the right coaching and game time I would imagine.
Frequently flattering to deceive is he that good??
Personally not convinced really!!
