Video Evidence Of Foul On Lo Celso: See How Deliberate John Fleck’s Attack Was

By The Boy -

Here’s the video. It’s pretty straightforward stuff – a straight red – and if we look at stills immediately afterwards, we see that the ball is out of play, and Fleck appears not to take his gaze from Lo Celso…

Is John Flack smiling – as if to say ‘did you get the message?’ To me, this looks premeditated and not only ought Spurs appeal but Fleck should be made to undergo some form of counselling – this is abnormal behaviour.

And that begs the question, why wasn’t he?? Banks is not a good official for this level. He is inconsistent and has poor judgement in my view.

He’s probably the worst of those operating at this level. Every time I watch a game he officiates I feel he’s not good enough.

He didn’t need to tackle Lo Celso, give him long enough he’d lose the ball himself. Shocking tackle though. VAR is as erratic as us.

Disgraceful from the player and also from the officials .

How many officials does it need to ensure correct decisions are made . the ref may miss (or have the wrong angle) but people in front of monitors?

Will this get overturned into a Red , let’s see ( I doubt it )

That’s the nub of it. VAR hasn’t been the issue, it’s the incompetents who are maning it

Banks is the one who advised sending of that defender the other week for kicking the ball… He appears to have judgement issues at the moment!

Anyone who has ever played the game knows that was a deliberate foul, actually just a blatant act of thuggery, for which he should have been shown a clear and obvious red card. I hope this psycho is charged retrospectively. Actions like that are a stain on the game and cannot be allowed to escape with punishment.

Regarding GBH, in order to secure a criminal conviction the onus is on the Prosecution to prove beyond all reasonable doubt an ACTUS REUS (guilty act) and MENS REA (guilty mind)!

Had Andre Mariner been advised to look at the incident on the monitor surely it would have resulted in Fleck being sent off!

Agreed. Def sending off.
Historically I recall 2 alleged GBH incidents. Firstly Man Citys Ben Thatcher thuggish elbow on Pedro Mendes (who I can’t recall if he was playing for Spurs or Portsmouth at the time) at Maine Road. The other one involved Klinsmann through on goal completely taken out knocked unconscious by Villas keeper Bosnich at Villa Park. Ref failed to produce a red.

Disgraceful, GBH mate.

You lost 4-0, f*ck off back to the Championship. If you’re even good enough, d*ckhead…

I’m a ref and I immediately thought he’d get sent off and then when VAR checked it and said nothing doing I could not believe it. Andre Marriner is usually a solid ref but he didn’t have a good game today and the less said about VAR ref Peter Banks the better. Way out of his depth.

Always find it strange how quick TV and radio pundits are to defend thuggish attacks.

That was accidental, he never meant that, he’s not that type of player, all BS.

If that’s was a Man Utd player on the floor I think the whole opposition would have been sent off

Utterly shocking decision. The sheer incompetence shouldn’t surprise me anymore, but it did.

When you see what red cards have been handed out for this season – it makes you wonder if var officials are actually competent enough.
