Video Evidence: Does Troy Parrott Look Fit To You?

By The Boy -

Troy Parrott featured in our pre-season friendly against Colchester United this week, and this clip was of the Irishman in the 79th minute.

At half-time, Tottenham brought on Tanganga, John, Scarlett, Dier, Skipp, Son, then, approximately 15-minutes later, Fagan-Walcott, Lyons-Foster, Cesay, White, Devine, Clarke, Parrott were introduced.

My question is, does Parrott look like a player who has only been out on the park for a few minutes? If I was looking to impress Nuno, I’d be wanting to look a little more in the front foot…

19 seconds?? The defenders were never beaten all 3 covered man and space. None dived in on the play unlike a guy we paid $42M who never know where his partners are. Contrarily, i give the first defender credit for cutting the route to goal forcing him to the inside. By the time Parrot recoils the space was gone, that us speed versus fitness. Two weeks ago he blast one home for Ireland on simple give and go coming across the goal, taking a few touches. This 19 seconds would be more about his ability to go on a long run isloated as oppose being unfit.

They say things went to ‘his head’ a long time ago and he hasn’t really marched on and developed as he might (but then they said that about Marcus Edwards too).

As fitter than Tanguy as he was let on the pitch,

The difference being Kane worked hard and earned his chance. Parrott doesn’t seem to be made of the same stuff. Too busy enjoying the rewards of a footballing career without actually earning it.

Whether he’s fit or not IDK, but early returns are that he just might not be any good. So far 2 managers here didn’t rate him, Millwall too. Let’s see what Nuno concludes. Then again, the 160m man bounced around a bit too early in his career…

Agreed, did well to make the space to get a shot which was unfortunately well blocked.

Not sure I’d believe anything the Sun is reporting today.
A phone call last Fri, NOT a long, personal meeting?
Mr.Levy has made a U turn, just like that?
Same paper (along with others) stating last week they can’t afford £100+m but immediately willing to pay £160m?
Manchester City to seriously smash their wage structure by so much?
& others stating the Sun story is NOT true!?

I heard all the hype and bought in and it was a great pull back but the shot wasnt that great maybe he is a midfielder but he sure aint a Kane replacement.

I can’t see anything overly concerning in this clip. Maybe, like Kane, he’s not the quickest. Speaking of Kane, the Sun is reporting that Levy is letting Kane go to Man City for £160m and that Kane is relieved as he wanted to depart on good terms.
