Vice President confirms Tottenham’s interest in young striker

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur has expressed interest in signing Adama Bojang, a young Gambian footballer who recently gained attention for his performances in the Under-20s African Cup of Nations.

The interest was confirmed by Bakary Jammeh, the vice-president of the Gambia Football Federation.

Bojang, who plays for Steve Biko FC in Gambia, drew interest from several European clubs after scoring a hat-trick in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Ajax and Marseille are among those keeping an eye on the 19-year-old.

Tottenham’s interest in Bojang is in line with the club’s recent transfer strategy of investing in young, high-potential players. The London-based club has been on the lookout for young talent with the potential for resale value, and Bojang seems to fit the bill.

Jammeh acknowledged that Tottenham was not the only club interested in Bojang, with Al Ahly reportedly expressing interest as well. However, he also noted that there had been no official approach from any of the interested parties.

He told Sada El-Balad as reported by King Fut:

“In addition to Tottenham, I have also heard about Al Ahly’s interest in Adama Bojang. But there is nothing official yet. If they want to sign him, they will have to start negotiations with Steve Biko. I really hope that Bojang moves to the highest level possible, and succeeds in his next step.”

Bojang’s potential move to Tottenham would be a significant step forward in his career and an opportunity to showcase his talent on a bigger stage. It remains to be seen whether Tottenham will make a move for Bojang, but his performances in the African Cup of Nations have certainly caught the attention of several clubs.
