‘Very problematic’, ‘needs to leave’ – Pundit names the Tottenham player who needs to leave the club

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, has been linked with a move away from Spurs for quite some time, and former Manchester United player Paul Parker believes he should leave the club during the January transfer window.

Expressing his admiration for Hojbjerg and revealing his desire for Manchester United to sign him, Paul Parker suggested that the Denmark international should leave the club in January.

However, he acknowledged that it might be challenging for Spurs to allow him to leave mid-season due to the shortage of midfielders, particularly with the likes of Bissouma and Sarr away for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Paul Parker suggests that the Denmark international needs to leave North London in January, but he thinks that Spurs will not likely allow him to leave in the middle of the season due to the shortage of midfielders.

Speaking to the weekly Danish sports magazine Tipsbladet, Parker said :

“I have always loved Hojbjerg, I just have to say that. I was a big proponent of Manchester United signing him this summer.

“His situation (at Tottenham) very problematic because he does not play when everyone is ready. He has had plenty of minutes, but it has been due to suspensions or injuries.

“He needs to leave Tottenham but they won’t let him go here in January. They can’t do that with the players they have going to the Africa Cup of Nations.”

The 28-year-old is in the final 18 months of his contract and the club has reportedly decided not to renew his contract.

The player is also said to be keen on leaving, and even changed his lawyer to force an exit.

He has fallen down the pecking order under Ange, with the Australian preferring Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr as his preferred duo.

While clubs like Juventus and Napoli have shown interest in the midfielder, negotiations have not led to an agreement due to Spurs’ asking price.

However, a January exit looks unlikely, with the only way he will be allowed to leave if Spurs sign a replacement for him or if the offer is too good to turned down.

Despite the ongoing transfer speculation, Hojbjerg continues to perform at a high level and remains an important squad player for the current season.
