Upsetting news coming out of Tottenham as defender undergoes surgery in yet another blow

Tottenham defender Ryan Sessegnon has once again undergone a surgery.

He was once regarded as the next upcoming star for Spurs but despite his talent, he has never been able to fulfil his potential due to his injury issues.

He suffered a hamstring injury in training during pre-season and had undergone a surgery which kept him until January.

He made his return in the FA Cup game against Burnley and only managed to play 10 minutes. It was then revealed that he picked up a knock again and was sidelined for another several weeks.

And after recovering from the knock, in his first game back in an U21 game against West Ham last week, he picked up yet another hamstring injury, only lasting 37 minutes on the pitch.

The club has now confirmed that the 23-year-old has undergone yet another surgery on his right hamstring.

The statement from the club states that he will continue to be closely monitored by the medical team before it can be determined when he can return.

TBH Says:

With Sessegnon’s injury woes persisting throughout his career through numerous injuries, totalling an astonishing 715 days spent sidelined—equivalent to approximately two years, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that he’ll be able to establish himself at the club.

Given the recurring setbacks, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy may opt to part ways with Sessegnon in the summer transfer window, seeking a replacement left-back to provide cover for Destiny Udogie.
