A fortnight ago, a source close to the club told The Boy Hotspur that Dele Alli wasn’t wanted at Spurs any more. Naturally, the club have not taken that line publicly – this despite José Mourinho being bewildered by the boy’s training efforts – as they have no interest in seeking to drive down the value of the boy, in what are testing times for those involved in the transfer markets.
A report from 90mins now suggests that Dele Alli is currently pleading with Daniel Levy to be let go this window. Understandably, the Spurs supremo wants to get nothing less than the full market rate for the boy, which is unlikely to happen either in a January window, or in the midst of a pandemic.
The report goes on to add that Paul Mitchell (late of this parish) is waiting in the wings, willing to agree to a short term loan, with no option to buy. Indeed, it is any ‘option to buy’ which is proving problematic in respect of PSG’s interest. As per most clubs, a loan without one is all in the loaning side’s favour.
I take a view that if Dele Alli is still on the premises come February, then Spurs have had a very bad window. Oh, and if you want your inside info first, you know where to get it.

😆 I’ll miss him. 2,3 years ago he was great. Goals and assists and not afraid to tackle. I thought we had the new Stevie G… But I’m the same guy who said Kane would never make it and Andros Townsend was our future hero!

If someone had predicted this happening with Dele when he was getting to 50 goals faster than Lampard, Gerrard etc etc, and scoring with aplomb, i would have called them crazy. I know we’ve gone over the reasons why a million times, but this is a sad fall from grace for this boy..

I don’t think Jose will feel Dele going leaves us short, I feeling it’s anincoming transfer fee that’s holding us back in releasing rather than a player down in the europa squad.
If Mourinho doesn’t trust him – which he doesn’t – Dele won’t play in important games such as the cup final, EL knockouts (maybe if we trash Wolfsberger in the first leg); he might get a few odd minutes late on in some PL games and probably could start against Wycombe.
This leaves us short a player anyway, so my view is get rid ASAP and bring in someone who can pull their weight consistently.
He can leave on a rest of the season loan providing it doesn’t leave us short.
