Ukraine’s Best Premier League Coach 2016/17 Close To Filling The Tottenham Hot Seat

By The Boy -

This one is a real curveball. Paulo Fonseca has managed a lot of clubs, and if he signs for Tottenham we will be his 12th appointment. Recently of Roma (what are the odds), the 48-year-old had his most successful spell in Ukraine, where his side Shakhtar Donetsk swept the board under his guidance, winning the Ukrainian Premier League: 2016–17, 2017–18, 2018–19; the Ukrainian Super Cup: 2017 and the Ukrainian Cup: 2016–17, 2017–18, 2018–19.

Fabrizio Romano for The Guardian makes the point that that Spurs could potentially face José Mourinho’s now Roma side in the third tier of European football, the Europa Conference League, as both sides finished 7th in their respective leagues.

This appointment was it to happen is likely to go one of two ways, be a raging success or result in another phone call to Ten Hag, whose one-year extension at Ajax will then have either become shorter or rewarded with even more time added to it.

inclined to agree, to will be one way or the other , but i am of the opinion we are a side who has been flirting with mid table for three seasons and a team to match. if this new manager can hold us round about where we are or a little better i wont complain- its time we need – to rebuild the team and as Liverpool and man u have shown it doesn’t happen in a season – i reckon its not a top manger we need at this moment to work miracles, but someone who can acquire the right players for the club we may have found someone more important than an a-lister manager.

Both Parker and Potter probably have too much ambition.

Pfft! This has got stop-gap manager written all over it. I can just imagine the conversation when he arrives at the training ground.

DL: Pablo welcome to Hotspur Way, isn’t it wonderful?

PF: Mr Levy my name is Paulo.

DL: Sure and please call me Mr Daniel. Did you know that this is actual training ground the 2008 League Cup winners trained on?

PF: I didn’t. That’s very impressive.

DL: Isn’t it! This place is literally dripping with success. See those fields over there, I’ve got planning permission for an IKEA and a Primark. It’s gonna be sick! Everything ok with your contract?

PF: Yes Mr Daniel. I must say the bonus for   winning trophies is extremely generous.

DL: Trophies? Oh yes those things. Well don’t focus TOO much on that stuff right now. A few house rules, don’t train the players too hard will you. They don’t really like it. Fabio and I will do the hiring and firing, we have this wizz of a spreadsheet for that. All I need you to do is keep the players happy, try and make sure their values increase and make them score goals. Fans seem to like the goals. If you do come close to winning a trophy, well I have ways of making these problems disappear if you get my meaning. Now I must dash, I need to see a man about an algorithm. Best of luck Pablo!

PF: My name is Paulo.

DL: Whatever….

My Italian source has just quoted the following message on Fonseca “Not a bad acquisition if it goes through”

It’s sad and hard to take, but merely two years after the CL final, this is where we are. No self respecting top manager is going to want to come and manage a club with a dead squad with no will or means to change that. The amount of money this guy will cost is the ONLY reason to appoint him, it’s a shambles. Never thought I’d say this, but we’d be better off with Parker!

Dan-Boy: Hey Rodney I’ve just bagged us a real bargain. Manager called Fonseca.
Rodney: Who?
Dan-Boy: What do you mean who, you tart! Fabio says this guy won almost as many league titles as Mourinho, he’s a pukka genius, he’s won loads of stuff with Ukraine
Rodney: Ukraine? WTF? Yer avin a laff aren’t you? Pigging Ukraine that’s like winning in the fecking woman’s league wiv the Arsenal men’s team. Give over.
Dan-Boy: Don’t you give me yer GCSE ‘know it all’ sauce, this guy is a better bargain than that case of mispelled ‘Klapp’ Liverpool tees I got last year. I’m going to pocket a fortune on the money I save on this guy.
Rodney: But will he get top-four or win a cup?
Dan-Boy: Sure. Cushty. No chance about it.
Rodney: Just like the best manager in the world, Mourinho did? You said he’d win the FIFA club world cup!
Dan-Boy. Pah, Mourinho is old news. This time next year Spurs will be the best performing club in the world.
