Treble winning manager arrives in London to hold talks with Tottenham

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a number of managers since the departure of Antonio Conte.

The 53-year-old Italian manager was sacked following his public criticism of the players and the club hierarchy.

Tottenham have been linked with a move for the former Barcelona manager Luis Enrique now.

The 52-year-old is currently out of a job since he was relieved of his duties as the manager of the Spanish national team after a poor World Cup campaign.

According to a report from Football Insider, Enrique has travelled to London to hold talks with Tottenham Hotspur regarding the managerial vacancy.

Enrique has proven himself at top clubs and he could prove to be a quality acquisition.

The Spanish manager helped Barcelona win the treble during his time at the club and he has managed clubs like Roma as well.

Spurs will need to bring in a proven winner in order to convince the fans and keep their top players at the club.

Players like Harry Kane have been linked with the move away and the England international will look to gauge Tottenham’s ambitions before committing his long-term future to the club.

Enrique’s attacking football could be the ideal fit for Tottenham. The attacking players at the north London club will certainly benefit from playing under the Spanish manager.

Tottenham have put Cristian Stellini in charge of the first team on an interim basis until the end of the season and it remains to be seen whether Enrique is prepared to take over right away or he waits until the end of the season.
