Transfer insider claims Spurs could be ‘convinced’ to sign French World Cup star now who they’ve been eyeing ‘for some time’

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, Tottenham Hotspur have been watching Adrien Rabiot for some time, amidst recent reports that Spurs are in the market for the midfielder.

The Frenchman’s contract with Juventus expires in the summer and is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs. He recently told ESPN that he is “not indifferent” to playing in the Premier League, but added that he will think about his future more after the World Cup.

According to Calciomercato, his summer transfer to Manchester United fell through due to his £166,000-per-week wage demands. Arsenal and Chelsea, however, are said to be ready to meet those demands.

The report adds that Tottenham have also entered the race for the 27-year-old, with Fabio Patrici said to be a big fan of him.

However, it appears that Spurs have been lurking in the shadows for quite some time. Jones claims that they have long admired the Frenchman. They may also be watching his performances in Qatar.

He believes Spurs’ interest in the midfielder could be reignited if he performs well for his country in the coming weeks. He told GIVEMESPORT:

“There are players, like Rabiot, where they’ve had an eye on their situation for some time, and they might just convince them that they are worth pursuing again.“

He has been fantastic for Juventus this season, scoring 5 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions. He also shone in France’s World Cup opener against Australia, scoring and assisting to help Didier Deschamps’ team qualify for the knockout stages right away.
