The club has a hit-and-miss relationship with social media, but this is a good example of touching on the right note. I’m not sure if the endlessly rotating graphic button has been overplayed, but the sentiment on this occasion has certainly been on point. Hugo’s undoubtedly been involved in some stellar performances, but one can’t help feel if this is his ‘This Is Your Life’ moment and the club is gearing up for an eventual farewell.

Doubt he’s going anywhere, replacement costs and greater needs in backline and midfield makes me think he will be here for a while.
That really was well done. I lambasted Hugo on more than a few occasions for having crisp bag hands and distributing awfully, but he’s been here since AVB, taking over from Brad Friedel (who turns 76 this year). There were some incredible saves there – the one at Leverkusen stands out particularly – but I never understood his credentials as a captain.
But overall, he’s been a great servant to the club and it’s probably the right time to let him go – maybe for one last hurrah with Poch at PSG?
More than just a hint I would say.
He’s a good egg, glad he can back from the drink drive thing to have a stormer of a season last year.
One of the greatest keepers the club has had actually, top 10 you’d think anyway.
He might be on his way out now though, seems the right time, before he fizzles out.
