Tottenham’s deal for top transfer target could be in danger: Report claims another club has come to an agreement

An Italian club might poach away Tottenham Hotspur’s targeted defender.

Napoli and Genoa have reportedly come to a preliminary agreement regarding Radu Dragusin.

Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport via Calcio Napoli 24 reports that both the Serie A clubs have planned a draft agreement for the centre-back.

The report claims that Napoli accelerated their pursuit in the market following a shoulder injury to their Brazilian defender, Natan, who is expected to be sidelined until February.

It adds that the initial proposal from Napoli was a cash offer of €20m, along with Alessandro Zanoli and Leo Ostigard on a season-long loan.

However, Genoa came back demanding a slight alteration, as they sought a permanent transfer for Zanoli and a loan for Ostigard.

The Italian club is said to have accommodated this request and had their offer revised accordingly.

Meanwhile, Spurs’ verbal offer has gone as far as €27 million for Dragusin, but it seems this would not cut. Whether another offer will be launched from North London remains to be seen.

Fabrizio Romano reported earlier that the English club has agreed personal terms with the player, and the 21-year-old centre-back prefers a move to the Premier League.

Tottenham’s long interest in the defender persists, and the club is working harder than ever to secure Dragusin’s signature. The club’s representatives would engage in thorough discussions with Genoa over the weekend.

The Lilywhites might have to match the Italian club’s asking price of €30 million. Otherwise, Dragusin could potentially stay in Serie A.
