Tottenham youngster reflects on a season that saw him pick up Premier League award

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham teenage star, Dane Scarlett has described how he feels after making his league debut for Spurs as a 16-year-old this season.

The youngster has been developing his game at Tottenham since he joined the club.

He broke into the first team last year with Jose Mourinho identifying him as one of the club’s top youngsters.

The Portuguese manager gave him his debut in the Premier League and the Europa League this season.

He came on for Son Heung-min in Tottenham’s game against West Brom in February to become the club’s youngest Premier League debutant.

He had already made his debut in the Europa League before that game and he would also go on to become the youngest Tottenham player to assist in the Europa League.

He was speaking to the Tottenham website after winning the Premier League Debut Ball, given to homegrown debutants to mark their rise to the top flight and said: “My Premier League debut is something that will stick with me because it was a big moment, not just for me but for my family as well.

“I’ve just got to keep kicking on and hopefully make some more appearances now.

“It’s clearly been my best season for a while, if not my whole life. In general, it was just a big confidence boost.”
