Tottenham yet to make a final decision on 28-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur completed the signing of RB Leipzig attacker Timo Werner on a loan deal this January.

The agreement includes an option for a permanent transfer in the summer, with a reported transfer fee of £15 million to be paid by Tottenham to secure Werner on a long-term deal.

However, sources close to the situation revealed to Football Insider that Tottenham have yet to make a final decision regarding the German forward’s future at the club.

The report further adds that the North London club chiefs see it as a potential bargain deal who value the ‘experience and versatility’ Werner brings.

He is said to be a well liked member of Ange’s side and has done well to settle in at the club, scoring 2 and assisting 2 in 8 league games so far.

However, he has also missed several easy chances in recent games including against Fulham, which prompted criticism from the likes of Agbonlahor who claimed that he shouldn’t be starting for Tottenham.

TBH Says:

He may not be a world-class striker but for the price he is available for, this really should be a no-brainer signing.

Spurs still have a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season and Werner will bring the experience with him to the otherwise young squad. He could prove to be a great squad player for Ange.
