Tottenham Hotspur are determined to sign Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen.

The 28-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season and a report from Fichajes claims that Tottenham will do ‘everything in their power’ to get the deal done. They are hoping to sign him on a free transfer, and it remains to be seen whether they can win the race for his signature.

La Liga outfit Barcelona are keen on signing the Germany international, and Chelsea are keeping tabs on his situation as well. Tah has established himself as a reliable performer in the Bundesliga and he has the quality to succeed in the Premier League as well. He could certainly help him improve defensively.

The North London club are lacking in depth in defence and signing another central defender would complete their defensive unit for the foreseeable future. In addition to that, signing the 28-year-old on a free transfer would represent an excellent investment.

He is one of the best defenders in German football, and he could be a key player for Tottenham. The report states that Tottenham would be willing to offer him lucrative wages in order to get the deal done. The likes of Chelsea have the financial muscle to offer him an attractive contract as well. It will be interesting to see how the situation unfolds.

The defender helped win the league title last season and he will feel that this is the right time for him to take up a new challenge. A move to the Premier League could be quite attractive for him, and he will look to win major trophies with Tottenham if the transfer goes through.

All three clubs could be attractive destinations for the 28-year-old defender, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
