Tottenham Hotspur winger Bryan Gil has been linked with a move away from the club this month.
The 22-year-old Spanish winger has struggled for regular game time at the north London club and he needs to leave in order to play regularly. According to reports (h/t SportWitness), Brighton are negotiating a loan deal with Tottenham for the player and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement.
Gil is versatile enough to operate on both flanks and he is capable of playing as the central attacking midfielder as well. He will add creativity and technical liability in the final third and improve Brighton going forward. The winger has been linked a the move back to Spain as well.
Meanwhile, Brighton are not the only club keen on the Tottenham winger and they will face competition from Brentford.
Gil has started just twice in the Premier League this season and he needs to play more often at this stage of his career. The 22-year-old was regarded as one of the finest young talents in European football before he moved to Tottenham, but the transfer has not gone according to plan and his development has stalled due to the lack of regular game time.
Tottenham should look to let the player leave if they cannot provide him with the platform he needs. Regular football at Brighton during the second half of the season could be ideal for him, and it would help him regain his form and confidence.
