Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix has emerged as one of Tottenham’s transfer targets as they continue to search for new defenders.
The Lilywhites have had problems at the back for a while now and they couldn’t solve it under the management of Jose Mourinho.
They have replaced him with Nuno Espirito Santo and the former Wolves boss knows that could be his undoing as well if he allows it to linger.
Spurs have been linked with a move for the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jules Kounde in this transfer window.
The former is a move that they might pull off and have already started talks with Bologna for the Japanese defender (The Athletic).
Kounde would be a tougher one to pull off, but he isn’t the only Frenchman they are targeting for their defence (Marca).
Lacroix is also on their radar and the 21-year-old could be a fine addition to their squad this summer.
The Athletic says, while they like him, they haven’t reached an advanced stage in their interest in his signature.
For now, he is just one of the options that Spurs have for their defence, but they are focused on other transfer targets.
The move for Tomiyasu might be the first one that gets completed by the club this summer.
