Tottenham Hotspur remain keen on signing the Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old central defender will be a free agent in the summer and the North London club are hoping to secure his services. Journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed on his YouTube channel that Tottenham are likely to step up their pursuit of the central defender and the player is keen on the move.

He said: “Spurs are expected to firm up their interest in Tosin Adarabioyo, the Fulham defender. There’s a growing interest in him as well. He’s an accomplished player. He’s good in the air. He’s also got a turn of pace. I looked up. On the first weekend of the season, he was clocked as the quickest defender online with a speed of 34.80 kilometres an hour. From my understanding, he’d be open to coming to Spurs.”

Adarabioyo has proven himself in the Premier League with the London club and he is certainly good enough for Tottenham. He could prove to be a quality acquisition, especially on a free.

Tottenham have three qualities central defenders – Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero and Radu Dragusin. Signing Adarabioyo could complete their defensive unit for the future. His arrival will add depth and quality to the backline.

Spurs could be competing in the UEFA Champions League next season and they need a deeper squad to do well across multiple competitions. They will need to sign quality players who can be squad options for them.

Tottenham need Tosin Adarabioyo

Tottenham have impressed this season under their new manager, but the lack of depth has cost them at times. They have struggled during injury problems and having a deeper squad will help them navigate injury concerns and fixture congestion in the coming seasons. Players like Adarabioyo could be worth their weight in gold.

The 26-year-old is not just a reliable defender, he is well settled in the Premier League. He could make an instant impact. Joining Tottenham would mean that he can continue to live in London, and that could be an added incentive for him. Joining a Champions League club will be an exciting proposition for him and it remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get the deal done quickly.
