Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah during the summer transfer window.
A report from Mundo Deportivo (h/t SportWitness) claims that Tottenham will face competition from Liverpool and Barcelona for the 29-year-old German International.
Tah will be a free agent in the summer and he is expected to move to a top European club in the summer. Spurs could certainly use more quality and depth in the defensive unit and the 29-year-old would be a quality acquisition. He is at the peak of his powers, and Tah will look to make his mark in the Premier League if he joins Tottenham. He has been described as “one of the world’s best defenders”.
Similarly, Liverpool could use more defensive depth in the side, especially if Virgil van Dijk leaves the club when his contract expires in the summer. The German International could improve both teams defensively, and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. He has helped Leverkusen win the league title recently, and he will feel that this is the right time for him to take up a new challenge.
Jonathan Tah could fancy a big move

Joining a top Premier League club will be quite exciting for him. The opportunity to move to Barcelona will be hard to turn down as well. Signing a player of his quality on a free transfer would be a major bargain for any club and it will be interesting to see where he ends up.
The defender has the physical and technical attributes to do well in English football, and he could settle in quickly and make an instant impact at Liverpool or Tottenham.
The North London club have looked vulnerable defensively this season and improving their defensive unit should be a top priority for them. In addition to that, Cristian Romero has been linked with a potential exit from the club as well. The 29-year-old German defender could be a quality replacement.
