Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The 24-year-old has firmly established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe and he helped Napoli win the league title last season. The Nigerian international scored 31 goals across all competitions and his performances have attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs.
According to a report from Calciomercato. It, Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea are all ‘very interested’ in signing the Napoli striker, but the player has ‘already made his choice’. Apparently, he is leaning towards a move to Chelsea.
The Blues are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements and signing a proven goalscorer like Osimhen would transform them in the final third.
As for Tottenham, they are yet to replace Harry Kane properly and the 24-year-old would have been the ideal replacement. It will be interesting to see if they come forward with an offer to sign the striker in the coming months.
Osimhen’s preference towards Chelsea will certainly come as a blow for the North London club, but they should look to try and tempt the player with a lucrative proposal.
In addition to that, if they can secure Champions League qualification, it could certainly give them an edge in the transfer race. Chelsea have made a mediocre start to the current campaign, and they will have to improve immensely in order to finish in the top four.
A player of Osimhen’s calibre will want to join a club with Champions League football and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds.
